In addition to 'New Driver' training courses, I also provide the following:
There can be many reasons why undertaking a course of refresher/confidence sessions may be of great benefit to you.
Some of these reasons can include:
- You strive to get behind the wheel again following a long period of driving inactivity;
- You have little or no experience of driving on a Motorway;
- You feel that you need to build or boost your confidence following an incident or road traffic accident in which you were involved;
- You feel that you need to update & modernise your driving skills;
- You feel uncomfortable when dealing with, or presented with a particular situation;
- When further training is a mandatory requirement following a driving offence;
If you can relate to any of the above, Chris Chambers School of Motoring are able to provide you with tailored, step-by-step remedial sessions to suit your individual needs.
Due to the individual needs and general circumstances of those looking to undertake these types of session, the number of sessions required will vary from person to person. Also, sessions of this nature, particularly those concerning anxiety, need to be planned very carefully; therefore your progress and performance will be carefully assessed and discussed with you on a session by session basis.
Pass Plus scheme
This is an official DVSA created course and may be taken at any time, but is primarily aimed at newly qualified drivers. Its purpose is to add to and improve upon your existing skill set, and to expand your driving experience whilst being accompanied by an approved professional.
In addition to assisting you in becoming a better, more confident driver, you may, on completion of the course, be able to claim a generous reduction on your car insurance (newly qualified drivers within 12 months from course completion date) from participating insurance providers.
Pass Plus consists of six modules that focus on the different driving conditions found:
- In town;
- In all weathers;
- On rural roads;
- At night;
- On dual carriageways;
- On motorways;
The course takes a minimum of 6 hours and is of a practical, in car nature. On occasion, depending upon factors such as weather conditions/geographical location, a theory based session will be given in place of a practical one.
It's possible to complete all modules in a single day; however, I find that completing the course over two, or possibly even three sessions can prove more productive as fatigue can set in. There is no test involved; I assess each module and the course will be deemed complete when learning has taken place and the required standard is met.
Driving Test Preparation
Aimed at those who are nearing test standard and who feel that they just need a short series of structured sessions prior to taking the test, or perhaps for those who have previously attempted the driving test, but haven’t driven since. Driving test preparation generally consists of two initial 2-hour assessment sessions. These assessment sessions provide sufficient time for me to observe your level of ability in a variety of situations. Following this, provided that these sessions have not highlighted any major issues with your driving, then a further 10 hours of in-car preparation is required, along with a further 2 hours for attending the driving test (generally 16 hours in total).
Should the assessment sessions highlight any major issues with your driving, we would then need to discuss the best way to remedy these. Please note that depending upon the nature and seriousness of any issue highlighted, the in-car driving test preparation time required may exceed the 16 hours stated above.
Driving Test Rescue
If you've ever been unfortunate enough to experience the disappointment of an unsuccessful driving test, you may agree that it can be difficult to find the motivation to go through it all again. Sadly, many people from all over the country, every year, find themselves in this situation and decide to give up on their driving dream.
If you find happen to yourself in a similar situation, please don't give up on your dream of driving success. Simply contact me at your convenience as I'm able to work alongside you to both remedy any problem areas within your driving, and support you in overcoming any doubts or concerns you may have for the future.
