I often find that when a prospective client contacts me, invariably their leading question is “How much do you charge?” Undeniably this question is a highly relevant one – particularly given the current financial climate we’re living in, however, when making the decision to learn to drive, it’s worth taking a moment to consider if ‘cheap’ really is the way forward?
Driving is a life-long skill as well as being an extremely serious business. Sadly thousands of people lose their lives on the UK’s road network each year.
Initially and understandably, the prospect of paying as little as £9.99 for a driving lesson (even less in some instances!) can appear appealing, but when you think about it, what value and level of experience & expertise are you actually paying for? How can and why would a qualified professional value their own time and expertise at such a relatively small amount – particularly when their peers are, in many instances, commanding twice as much as they are?
High quality tuition is vital in successfully passing the driving test, but more importantly, high quality tuition is vital in preparing you for a safe life on the roads beyond the test – try not to think of simply paying for a driving lesson in the short term, but more as making an investment into your future long term.
Quality is provided at a premium – I truly believe that you get what you pay for whether you’re purchasing a pair of socks, a TV or in this instance driving lessons.
It’s certainly something to think about . . .
Stay safe,
Chris
