An API (application programming interface)\u00a0and data security expert has warned of the potential for\u00a0malicious attacks on internet connected vehicles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>It is thought that should someone happen to find a vulnerability in an internet-enabled car, this vulnerability could be exploited which in turn could create the same situation that we have now for browsers.<\/p>\n

Given the potential for such malicious attacks, it is also thought that current privacy legislation will likely need to be updated in order to deal with such scenarios.<\/p>\n

The warning comes in the wake of the recent\u00a0Consumer Electronics Show (CES)\u00a0technology trade show in Las Vegas, where motoring giants such as\u00a0BMW, Mercedes, and Ford (amongst others) announced a range of “smart car” features.<\/p>\n
