{"id":2465,"date":"2014-04-07T15:39:42","date_gmt":"2014-04-07T14:39:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chrischambers-som.com\/blog\/?p=2465"},"modified":"2014-04-07T18:59:50","modified_gmt":"2014-04-07T17:59:50","slug":"driving-lessons-sunderland-driving-schools-sunderland-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chrischambers-som.com\/blog\/driving-lessons-sunderland-driving-schools-sunderland-8\/","title":{"rendered":"Driving Lessons Sunderland | Driving Schools Sunderland."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Through my work with learner drivers, I often hear students comparing themselves and their progress against that of their friends&#8230; particularly if their friends are also learning with me!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of course, it is 100% human nature to compete and compare ones self to others, however\u00a0while I appreciate that learning from others is important, it can also be quite unhealthy if the comparison is used in a negative way which\u00a0undermines ones own abilities and confidence.<\/p>\n<p>When I hear a student comparing themselves against someone else, if the comparison is negative (it isn&#8217;t always!), I generally reassure them by stating that the only person they should be competing and comparing themselves against is themselves. \u00a0Everyone is different. \u00a0I also stress that it is not necessarily about being &#8216;the best&#8217;, but simply being the very best they can personally be.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst browsing the internet, I stumbled upon the image below.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the wording is not directly related to learning to drive, I feel that the sentiment is certainly there.<\/p>\n<p>What are your thoughts on this post?
