A Father decided to ’embarrass’ his son and to make a point to other parents to be aware of their children’s driving habits.<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

There are, I suppose, a number of ways said embarrassment could be achieved, and on this occasion the father decided to use an interesting method.<\/p>\n

In what can be described as both an amusing method, but one ultimately carrying a serious message, the drivers’ father advertised the remains of his son’s wrecked 14-year-old Honda Civic 1.4 for sale on free classified ad site Gumtree.<\/p>\n

The ad also carried a picture of the car on its roof, all for the grand sum of 1p!<\/p>\n

The father posted the ad as a means of shaming his son into driving more carefully.<\/p>\n

In addition to the picture, the ad also featured comments such as, “Due to son thinking he’s Colin McRae, I now have a 2000 Honda Civic 1.4 breaking for spares” and “It seems a 1.4 was too much for him to handle. He talked the talk, but certainly didn’t walk the walk – he will be walking now, for a long time” in the description!<\/p>\n

My personal favourite line was, “It seems his ambition outweighed his talent on this occasion. I can’t think why! He’s been driving for over a week now…”.<\/p>\n

I certainly think it’s a unique method of increasing awareness of what is an important topic – hopefully the message inside it will be heard.<\/p>\n
