Hitting a street near you soon – provided you live in Germany that is! A new generation of traffic light pedestrian buttons have been developed by German engineers, whereby an actual video game has been installed into them.<\/span><\/h1>\n

The system is currently in its development phase, and is known as “StreetPong”.<\/p>\n

Instead of the normal display simply showing the word \u201cwait\u201d or an image of a red man at traffic lights, the new device allows users to play a classic arcade game against an opponent on the other side of the road.<\/p>\n

How cool is that, eh!?<\/p>\n

If the development happens to make its way to the UK, I can guarantee that I will be using pedestrian crossings as much as a pedestrian as I\u00a0currently do as a driver in future!<\/p>\n
