Most Brits ‘Unaware Of Rules’ Regarding Drink-Driving.

Worrying new figures have revealed that almost half of motorists say they do not know when they are safe to get behind the wheel following consumption of alcohol.

A worrying 1.2 million motorists actually admitted to drink-driving since 2011.

The large majority of these instances were when getting behind the wheel the morning after drinking alcohol because they were not aware of how long it takes for the alcohol to leave the body.

There are many factors which play their part when determining how long it takes the body to break down one unit of alcohol; factors such as the person’s weight, age, gender and speed of metabolism, however official guidelines suggest it takes one hour to break down one single unit of alcohol.
