Ground-Breaking New Camera Could Help Drivers See Through Fog.

By | 07/12/2013

Engineers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Laboratory have developed a camera which can see through opaque substances like milk.

This technology could prove to be an invaluable aid to motorists as the camera can tell the difference between light that is scattered by water droplets, for example in fog or heavy rain, and solid objects like a car bumper!

Sounds like it could be another impressive addition to the world of vehicle technology in the coming years.

However, as I have said on a number of occasions, whilst I am all for the integration of technological advances being used in vehicles, I also think that many drivers place far too much of a reliance upon such technology which, as with all technology, should never be the case – technology for the most part is there to act only as an aid to the driver – the responsibility still falls with the person behind the wheel.
