The RAC have warned motorists of problems with Diesel sold on British forecourts.
Motorists are warned of unexpected breakdowns as experts believe that rising biodiesel concentrations can cause a build-up of a thick gel-like substance in vehicles’ engines.
In recent years and under EU regulations, fuel suppliers have been obliged to blend conventional diesel and petrol fuels with increasing amounts of environmentally friendly biofuels.
According to the RAC, their technicians attended 600 incidents last month which are linked to blocked engine filters.
I personally drive a Petrol powered car and have experienced absolutely zero problems, however a large number of my colleagues use Diesel powered cars for their tuition purposes, and a number of them have indeed experienced similar issues of late.
