A crackdown across Avon and Somerset resulted in 70 people being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving during the first 20 days.
The Police operation entitled ‘Christmas Operation Tonic’ used high visibility stop checks and intelligence-led patrols.
Given the numbers involved, sadly it is obvious that the “Don’t Drink Drive” message which is rolled out every year at this time is not getting through…
