Reflection…
Well, what can I say?
Sunderland, in typical fashion, pushed the big ole’ self-destruction button yet again…
In fairness the game would likely have been a whole different outcome should we have managed to keep both Cattermole (I’m not convinced that there was a huge amount of contact personally) and Dossena (a certain red – this one was far from pretty…) on the pitch.
Of course, sadly we’ll never know…
Furthermore, I can be argued that we actually played better with nine men on the pitch than we did with the full compliment of eleven, and regardless of the result, fingers can not be pointed in the direction of the manager…
Yes, we lost… yes, we kind of undid the hard work put in last time out, and yes it is a bit of a blow, but we must move on…
I thought I’d be on here having a rant, but having had time to give it some thought, the situation and circumstance in which ultimately contributed massively to the loss was like something from a Benny Hill sketch!
We conceded the only goal of the game by way of what I believe will be given as an own-goal by Carlos Cuellar; we lost our number one goalkeeper due to a collision with a former Sunderland defender; we went down to nine men…
Poyet’s hope of a game plan going straight out of the window.
No biggie… we just have the unenviable task of City up next in the league next weekend… could be interesting!
ONWARD!
