Reflection…

Ooh Bally, Bally!

Well, another game down and sadly we lost again – not that anyone actually gave us a hope of winning anyway mind, but at least we were pretty much always in with a chance of taking something from the game.

What we were witness to was genuine and total effort from all in Red & White, and for that we should be mighty proud. To see everyone working for each other with the drive to close United down was, for me, a beautiful and positive sight.

I think at this early stage of the season, and now that we have a couple of the more difficult fixtures out of the way, we can go into the international break (Yawn… Zzzz) with a decent window of time to find Di Canio’s successor, and to build upon the structure and organisation which Bally has happily brought to the side.

Even though no one player exerted more effort that any other, I must give a shout out to Jozy today. He is, naturally, ultimately going to be judged on his goal scoring record but, even though he is getting a bit of stick from certain quarters of the Sunderland faithful for his lack of goals thus far, he put himself about brilliantly again today and was constantly causing the United back line a lot of problems.

It is also worth mentioning that the system we played didn’t really provide him with a hat-full of goal scoring opportunities either. He was being double-teamed every time the ball went high, and when he did manage to get the flick-on, the support around him were miles away.

What is the lad to do, eh?

I honestly think that when he does finally bag his first Premier League goal, then he will be flying.

Anyway…

As disappointed as I am, this fella will sleep tonight comfortable in the knowledge that, even though things are not exactly going as planned at the moment, we will not give up without a fight!

ONWARD!!

Keep the faith Ladies and Gentlemen…
Chris
