The Father suffered multiple broken bones after being pinned against a wrought iron fence.
According to the article, it seems that at the conclusion of the lesson, he decided to get out of the car in order to direct his son into the driveway.
It was at this point that the son stepped on the accelerator pedal, which in turn moved the vehicle forward and to the right hitting the father and pinning him against the fence.
This resulted in, as mentioned earlier in the piece, the Father suffering multiple injuries including a broken pelvis, tibia and knee.
Whilst the decision of the Father to leave the learner driver unsupervised proved to be an unwise one, the consequence of it further strengthens the reasoning why it’s better and far safer to learn the skill of driving with a professional instructor.
