Driver Faces Prosecution For Allegedly Driving Through Puddle And Splashing Families.

By | 28/01/2014

That’s right folks – The 22 year-old driver reportedly failed to slow down after creating a ‘large wave’ which drenched some children and their parents on their way to school at the time.

However, unfortunately for the driver concerned, a police officer was travelling in the car behind him and witnessed the whole incident.

Because of the police officer witnessing the incident, the driver concerned has now been reported for careless driving, which means he could possibly receive a court summons, along with a £5,000 fine,

Alternatively, he may be ordered to attend a driver awareness course.

Many drivers do not realise that such an act is, in fact, a driving offence and is defined as ‘Careless, and inconsiderate, driving’ in Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred.  Early last year, a motorist was prosecuted for accidentally splashing a police worker, however, following a seven-month legal battle the CPS dropped the matter admitting that their evidence was ‘irregular’.
