New date sourced from Police Scotland has revealed dozens of cases of cars being recorded at well in excess of 100mph, with one driver caught travelling at 139mph in a 60mph zone.
Recorded over a 26-month period, the figures were obtained by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request.
The highest figure recorded in England & Wales during the same period was 149mph…
It goes without saying that travelling at such speeds is totally unacceptable, and just serves to reinforce the notion that there are still drivers out there still recklessly displaying a contempt for the law, along with the safety of their fellow road users.
