Fraudsters have duped first-time drivers into purchasing bogus car insurance.
The scam involved the fraudsters setting up a series of ‘ghost broking websites’ which appeared to offer premiums 15 per cent cheaper than the average. Furthermore, the fraudsters were also operating a fake-call centre which played a soundtrack of office noise in the background.
