Driving Examiner Assaulted By Learner Driver.

By | 19/02/2014

The 22 year-old learner driver attacked the examiner after being told he had failed his driving test.

He then accused the examiner of being racist and even threatened to find out where he lived and kill him.

The learner driver initially claimed to have acted in self defence after he lashed out at the senior examiner, which resulted the examiner splintering a bone in his shoulder and leaving him in immense pain and unable to work.

During the incident, some of the other examiners and instructors tried to come to the aid of the senior examiner, but so traumatised were some of the learner drivers in attendance at the time, they were unable to take their test that day.

The learner driver eventually pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour and common assault, and was handed an 18-month suspended sentence.  The Magistrate also ordered him to pay £1,500 compensation plus £500 court costs, and to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
