A woman has had her behaviour on the road branded as ‘irresponsible and dangerous’ by road safety campaigners, after being spotted and photographed casually reading a book while behind the wheel of her car travelling at speeds of up to 70mph.
The driver was photographed by a passenger in another vehicle while travelling alone along a busy stretch of the M1 in Leicestershire. The driver, with the book spread across her steering wheel, continued on her journey even when other motorists were gesturing to her to stop.
