Whilst browsing the internet, I stumbled upon this little beauty!
As part of my driver training, I use in-car video recording both as a learning tool, as well as for safety purposes. Many would think that the use of in-car recording would be a very modern concert, however it seems that the practice was in place – albeit very rarely – back in the sixties.
The footage shows the journey from London to Bath as driven by Mr G. Eyles of the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists).
Having watched the footage for myself, it interesting to see how quiet the roads are in comparison to modern day traffic, and also some of the on-road practices – the flashing of headlights and sounding of the horn in particular – did make me smile in disbelief!
I am not quite sure how such practices would be received on modern day roads!
If you have ten minutes to spare (!), it’s certainly worth a look.

What are your thoughts on the footage? Do you have an opinion on it?
Please feel free to leave me your thoughts in the comments box.
As always, stay safe out there folks!
