According to research by safety charity TyreSafe, many students are putting themselves at risk of a potentially nasty breakdown due to their failure to check their car tyre tread depths, condition and pressures.
The research, which was carried out at this summer’s V Festival, worryingly found that a fifth of students have never checked their tyres, with more than one in ten actually stating that they thought it was the responsibility of their parents to do so.
