In addition to 'New Driver' training, I also provide the following:

Refresher and confidence-building sessions

There are many reasons why participating in refresher and confidence-building sessions could be very beneficial.

Some of these reasons include:

  • You aim to resume driving after a period of inactivity;
  • You have limited or no experience driving on a motorway;
  • You wish to regain confidence after a past incident or accident;
  • You desire to update and improve your driving skills;
  • You feel uneasy in certain driving situations;
  • Further training is required following a driving offence;

If any of the above resonates with you, Chris Chambers School of Motoring offers personalised, gradual remedial sessions to meet your specific requirements.

Given the unique needs and circumstances of individuals seeking these sessions, the number of sessions needed will vary. Furthermore, sessions addressing anxiety, in particular, require careful planning; therefore, your progress will be meticulously assessed and discussed with you after each session.

Pass Plus scheme

The Pass Plus scheme, an official DVSA course, is available anytime, especially benefiting newly qualified drivers. It enhances driving skills and experience under the guidance of an approved professional.

Upon completion, you may qualify for a significant car insurance discount (for newly qualified drivers within 12 months of course completion) from participating insurers, fostering greater confidence and driving proficiency.

Pass Plus comprises six modules covering various driving conditions:

  • In town;
  • In all weathers;
  • On rural roads;
  • At night;
  • On dual carriageways;
  • On motorways;

The course is a minimum of six hours long and is hands-on, conducted in a vehicle. Occasionally, depending on weather or location, a theory session may substitute a practical one.

It's possible to finish all modules in one day; however, I find that spreading the course over two or three sessions is often more effective, as fatigue can be a factor. There is no formal test; I assess each module, and the course is considered complete upon successful demonstration of the required skills and knowledge.

Driving Test Preparation

Designed for individuals nearing test readiness who desire structured sessions before their test, or those who have previously attempted the test but haven't driven recently. Preparation typically involves two 2-hour assessment sessions allowing observation of driving abilities in various situations. Following these sessions, assuming no significant issues are identified, an additional 10 hours of in-car preparation is needed, plus 2 hours for the driving test itself (a total of 16 hours).

If the assessments reveal significant driving issues, we will discuss appropriate remedial strategies. Please understand that depending on the nature and severity of any identified issues, the in-car preparation time may exceed the 16 hours mentioned.

Driving Test Rescue

If you have unfortunately failed a driving test, you might understand how disheartening it can be to start the process again. Many people across the country experience this and choose to abandon their goal of driving.

Should you find yourself in this position, please do not give up on your dream. Feel free to contact me; I can help you address any weaknesses in your driving skills and support you in overcoming any anxieties you may have.
