I just thought I would share an embarrassing but quite humorous event from recent times..!
This happened a while ago, but here goes…
Picture the scene:
So, there I was waiting at the traffic lights having just dropped my student off at home. As per normal when in the car alone, I often have a good old sing to myself; I am sure you will do the same…
The song on this occasion being, “You’re Beautiful” by James Blunt.
Scanning the road whilst I waited in anticipation of the traffic lights changing as is usual, I am singing along with the words as the chorus begins, “You’re beautiful – You’re beautiful…”
Then I realised…
I just happened to turn my head to the right, only then to find to my embarrassment that I had somehow – without realising – happened to make eye-contact with an elderly lady sitting in the passenger seat of the car on my right as I sang when the following line, “You’re beautiful, it’s true…”
(!)
It was only then – as the lady smiled and began to chuckle to herself, just before nudging the driver to inform him of my embarrassment – that I realised the lady had obviously managed to read my lips!
What was my response to the situation I hear you ask?
Well, I simply smiled – nodded politely in her direction, before happily watching out for the traffic lights to change to green!
🙂
As I say, quite embarrassing at the time but I could not help but laugh out loud as I made my way along the road!
Have you had any embarrassing moments behind the wheel? If so, please feel free to share them in the comments box.
Stay safe good people!
