A businessman appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court recently after being caught doing 130mph….with a cup of tea between his legs.
The man, who owns an organic milkshake company, told the court that he had been surprised to find the expensive Mercedes E-Class he was driving – wait for it…. did not have a cup holder!
As excuses go this is a good one!
The businessman admitted careless driving and was fined £1,000 with £190 costs, and had seven points put on his licence which also resulted in a six-month driving ban.
