The term ‘hero’ is a one which is thrown around far too frequently nowadays in my opinion.
However, the actions of someone of whom can be considered as a true hero are highlighted in an news article I have stumbled upon in The Daily Mail.
When truck driver and Father-of-four Bob Rennie, 46, found himself following a swerving, and apparent run-away car, he knew something was wrong. He then became a little concerned when the driver of the car failed to respond to his attempts at getting his attention. As the car began to weave left then right towards the opposite carriageway, Mr Rennie knew that the car driver was in some sort of health trouble and decided to take matters into his own hands in an attempt to both help the car driver, and avoid him being involved in a serious accident.
This action was ultimately to overtake the out of control Peugeot, and slowly to bring the car to a safe stop.
When Mr Rennie managed to stop the car, he found that the elderly diabetic driver appeared dazed: On arrival, paramedics said he had low blood sugar and had suffered a fit at the wheel.
Mr Rennie essentially saved the car driver’s life!

Note: While I certainly would not advise people to attempt such a manoeuvre themselves, given the circumstance Mr Rennie found himself in, he did what he felt was right at the time and is therefore, in my eyes, a bit of a real-life hero!
Mr Rennie, Sir… I salute you!
