It seems that by paying monthly for car insurance is costing motorists £682 million more than it would by paying the total fee up-front.
Statistics found that almost a third of people currently pay for their insurance premium on a monthly basis, which in turn equates to an average additional cost of £88 for the privilege of doing so.
The statistics also show that the average interest rates among insurers was 23%.
