Despite the weight of negative publicity surrounding the use of mobile phones while behind the wheel, a survey has discovered that the dangers of mobile phone abuse is still being seriously underplayed in the eyes of many.
The survey, conducted by used car warranty firm ‘Warrantywise’, set out to find out what the public believed to be the most dangerous driving offences.
Strangely, the use of a mobile device while driving – a strong pet hate of mine personally – received only 9% of the respondents votes despite previously being classed as the biggest pet hate by motorists
Drivers surveyed believed that the most serious offence was driving under the influence which received 67% of the respondents votes.
