According to new research, parents are not good ‘road models’ as a fifth of mums admit to road rage in front of their kids while behind the wheel.
The study by The Goodyear Driving Academy also found the following:
• 72% of parents think the would fail their test if they had to re-sit it, however 40% would be willing to teach their own children to drive when they reach an age to do so.
• Three in ten parents under 35 have read text messages while driving with their children in the car.
• 25% of mums of all ages have read texts at the wheel.
The research also highlighted a number of other findings, with one of the most concerning, for me personally, being that a not insignificant 36% of those questioned said they thought their own driving habits would have no impact on the way their children grow up to drive themselves…
