According to the RAC, fuel prices could be set to increase by up to 5p per litre due to the treat of conflict in Ukraine.
It is thought that because of the uncertainty arising from the current crisis, fuel traders fearing potential conflict in the region have begun buying up stock in bulk, sparking an increase in prices due to a squeeze on supply.
A spokesman claimed that, should war break out, the actual impact would be even greater, so much so that it could potentially matching that of the first Gulf War when petrol prices increased by 10p per litre.
