Police Issue Warning Over Illegal Driving Instructors.

By | 22/09/2013

Police are warning learner drivers to check that their Driving Instructor (or potential Driving Instructor) is correctly qualified.

The warning follows a series of 30 roadside operations since 2011 in England, Scotland and Wales to specifically target illegal instructors.  During this time 123 suspected illegal instructors have been arrested.

The thought of illegal Driving Instructors offering highly likely sub-standard driver training is quite disturbing to those such as myself.  In addition to the likely sub-standard training being offered, these people are essentially morally and financially defrauding members of the public.

Officially registered Driving Instructors must undergo both rigorous training, and a series of qualifying exams in order to be deemed suitable to teach to the required standards set out by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).

My advice to you would be that when seeking a Driving Instructor, always look for a Green (fully qualified) or Pink (trainee) badge which, by law, must be displayed in the windscreen of the tuition vehicle.

Should you require further assistance in recognising an illegal Driving Instructor, then please do not hesitate to contact me 07951 047 894.

Alternatively, you could make the sensible choice from the outset and hire yours truly to teach you to drive: provided that you live in Sunderland or the surrounding areas of course!

(Naturally, it goes without saying that I am fully qualified, experienced, and can happily prove my credentials..!)

😉

Stay safe folks!
