Proposed Drug-Drive Offence Limits Move A Step Closer.

By | 29/03/2014

The Government is once again looking at the proposed legal limit for amphetamine following concerns expressed during the initial consultation process.

In the meantime, following consultation, there have been limits recommended for 16 different drugs which have now been approved.

Essentially, this means that eight generally-prescription drugs along with eight illicit drugs will be added into new regulations that will come into force in autumn 2014.

The introduction of this new offence will make the roads safer, as the police will have powers to tackle those who drive after taking illegal drugs, whilst clarifying the limits for those taking medication.
