Match date: Sunday 27 April 2014. Final Score: Sunderland 4 – 0 Cardiff Reflection… First off, Sunderland are no longer in the bottom three! What a day, and what a fantastic result for the Sunderland faithful. One word about today’s performance: Clinical. On the back of two great performances the previous week against two of the […]
Match date: Saturday 19 April 2014. Final Score: Chelsea 1 – 2 Sunderland Reflection… What an absolutely magnificent victory… Survival is still very much ON! Just when it seems that the tiny glimmer of survival hope is about to fade away, and even the most optimistic Sunderland supporter (said supporter being Me!) is beginning to feel […]
Match date: Wednesday 16 April 2014. Final Score: Manchester City 2 – 2 Sunderland Reflection… We woz robbed Guv’nor! Desperately unlucky Sunderland managed only to snatch a score draw from the jaws of what seemed like a well deserved victory. Naturally, being Sunderland, we didn’t start the game well. Having gone one-nil down due to […]
Match date: Saturday 12 April 2014. Final Score: Sunderland 0 – 1 Everton Reflection… A much improved performance from the lads in Red & White, however this observation is merely a side-note to yet another painful defeat. What a desperately cruel way to lose a game. Having played comfortably some of our better football since the […]
Match date: Monday 07 April 2014. Final Score: Tottenham 5 – 1 Sunderland Reflection… Question: What has happened to my beloved football club?! Well, as the man himself Mr Poyet rightly stated in his post-match interview, Sunderland now pretty much need a minor miracle to avoid the dreaded drop. After playing what can, at best, […]
Match date: Monday 31 March 2014. Final Score: Sunderland 1 – 2 West Ham Reflection… Gutted. Throughout my 38+ years on the planet known as ‘Earth’, from what I recall nobody ever said that supporting Sunderland would be an easy, or indeed joyful journey… As the inquest into our embarrassingly poor league form continues, ultimately […]
Match date: Wednesday 26 March 2014. Final Score: Liverpool 2 – 1 Sunderland Reflection… A very much improved display against a Liverpool side unbeaten in six and flying high at the top-end of the league. Having said that, given the pathetic performances we have been served up against Palace and Norwich of late, an improvement […]
Match date: Saturday 22 March 2014. Final Score: Norwich 2 – 0 Sunderland Reflection… One word: PATHETIC. Sorry, my mistake – two words: ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. Simply gutless – Zero confidence along with zero passion equals zero points for Sunderland… This one – like many games this season – was very difficult to watch. To find […]
Match date: Saturday 15 March 2014. Final Score: Sunderland – Palace Reflection… *Deep exhale of breath…* Hmm… Well that fixture didn’t quite go as I had dreamt last night. Billed as the typical ‘relegation six-pointer’, the phrase “opportunity knocks” was fitting for the day also; unfortunately and frustratingly we failed to answer. The team certainly […]
Match date: Sunday 09 March 2014. Final Score: Hull City 3 – 0 Sunderland Reflection… I suppose this is the point in which I can use the age-old line, “At least we can concentrate on the league now”, eh…?! Back down to earth with a big ‘ole bang for the Sunderland faithful that’s for sure. […]
