According to Engineering and Technology Magazine, the Highways Agency looks set to test a wireless charging system for electric cars while moving on a UK motorway.
Essentially, this would be achieved by embedding wireless charging nodes into the road surface, which would allow electric vehicles to gain additional charge as they passed over them while moving.
The concept itself is currently used by some mobile phones.
