So, another week on planet Earth has passed in what seems like the blink of an eye… You know, I find it strange that when I was but a young boy at school, each and every day of the six-week summer holiday seemed like an absolute eternity, whereas now, being an adult, here we are […]
Huge congratulations to my student Laura Flett of Sunderland who happily passed her driving theory test on 10th of April 2014 at Sunderland DTTC. Result! So that’s the difficult bit done Laura – just the easy test to pass now! 😉 Best wishes from your Driving Instructor Chris and all at Team […]
A bulletin released today, 10.04.2014, by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) highlights proposed changes to theory test fees. The proposals are still at the consultation stage, however plans would see the current fee of £31.00 reduced by £6.00 to £25.00 in October this year, with a drop of a further £2.00 in October […]
According to the latest government statistics, speeding drivers are now more likely to take a driver education course as opposed to accepting points on their licence. Picture the scene… There you are, you park your car next to a canal to take a romantic stroll with your partner. You decide to make the most of it by popping into the canal-side pub for a quiet drink. Sounds very pleasant I think you’ll agree. However, the occasion was ruined when someone told him that […]
Through my work with learner drivers, I often hear students comparing themselves and their progress against that of their friends… particularly if their friends are also learning with me! Of course, it is 100% human nature to compete and compare ones self to others, however while I appreciate that learning from others is important, it can […]
Here we have another great short film produced by ‘The Rank Organisation’. On this occasion, it is looking at the “new-for-the-time” Hovercraft revolution and how it affects the way we travelled about. From being a young boy, I have always been a massive fan of all things car related. I remember yearning for the day […]
That’s right good people – you did read the headline correctly! I have to admit that on first glance I thought this article was a belated April Fools joke! However, it seems not. The student was pulled over and fined when he mistakenly thought his car was still road legal as it had a valid […]
Whoa… It seems that it’s Friday once again, eh?! Where are these weeks going to?! The year is absolutely flying-by, and it seems not two minutes since we were celebrating the incoming on 2014. Scary! Anyway, another great week has been had at Chris Chambers School of Motoring. It was also great to welcome my […]
It seems, however, that the campaigners have a differing point of view to that of motoring groups. Whilst road safety group, Brake, takes its own ‘GO 20’ campaign to Parliament in order to urge ministers and MPs to support the introduction of a ‘default’ urban speed limit of 20mph, the AA have said that it was […]
