All I can say is this: That’ll teach him..! A driver has been arrested following his attempt to break a highly illegal record by driving 26.5 miles around Manhattan, New York in just 24 minutes and seven seconds. The driver allegedly used a 2006 BMW Z4 to tear through the streets in August this year. […]
According to CarNetNews.co.uk, a man from Northumberland has been given a taxi licence despite a shocking record. This has caused furore amongst road safety campaigners as the man in question has 62 convictions to his name, including 16 of driving when disqualified and 13 for driving without insurance… North Tyneside Council initially refused to proffer a […]
… And I could not have said it better myself! This quote pretty much encompasses the approach I take to my work. 🙂 Stay safe folks! Chris http://www.chrischambers-som.com https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=623169354390433&set=a.383726825001355.92835.245201678853871&type=1
Some people just never learn… or should that be don’t care?!? I was shocked and disappointed to read an article which highlighted new Government figures concerning driving licence endorsements. Modernising you car is, certainly for the male of the species, a kind of rite of passage. Transforming your basic, affordable car into something that you think looks “cool” and more in fitting with your social profile is the dream of many a young, new driver (and many older ones too for that matter!). In an effort to cut the number of road deaths in the UK, EU road safety chiefs are planning to install speed limiting devices into all cars in order to prevent them from going over the current national speed limit of 70mph. The aim of this proposal is to cut road deaths by up to […]
Given the time I spend on the road, I regularly come across some strange or even, in some cases, ridiculously placed road signs or markings. For example, I recently noticed two very visible 20mph signs located at the entrance to a “road” which stretched no more than thirty feet! Whilst I can fully appreciate that […]
Further to an earlier blog post concerning the location of the “UK’s Worst Drivers”, an article in The Hartlepool Mail has highlighted an increase in driving test passes in relation to the national average. The article reveals that in 2012-13, 51% of driving tests taken as Hartlepool’s Newburn Bridge Industrial Estate Test Centre were completed successfully […]
